    Strawberry Pretzel Salad

    This one is always a hit.. its salty and sweet and we have tweak it from the original recipe.

    List of Ingredients




    Crust

    3/4 cup melted butter
    3 tbsp sugar
    2 1/4 cups crushed pretzel (crush them fine)

    mix in 13 by 9 inch pan ( we prefer glass ) and bake at 400 degree for 8 minutes. Cool. I make this part the day before.

    Middle layer

    16 ounces cream cheese ( room temperature )
    2 cups sugar
    1 - 8 ounce cool whip thawed

    Cream together and spread over cooled pretzels.

    Top layer

    2- 3 ounce strawberry jello
    2 cups boiling water
    2 - 10 ounce package chopped frozen strawberries.

    Mix jello and boiling water until dissolved. Then add in chopped frozen strawberries with juice. Put mixture in fridge till it starts to gel.

    Pour over creamy filling and chill.

    I like to make the crust a day ahead and I always do the cream mixture and strawberry topping the day of..otherwise the pretzels get soggy.
