    Meme Edward's recipe. Everyone looked forward to Meme's popcorn balls at Halloween.


    List of Ingredients


    • 3 qt. popcorn
    • 1 c. sugar
    • 1/3 c. white syrup
    • 1/3 c. water
    • 1/4 c. butter
    • 3/4 tsp. salt
    • 3/4 tsp. vanilla


    Instructions


    1. Mix sugar, corn syrup, water, butter and salt in saucepan and cook, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Continue cooking without stirring until syrup forms a brittle ball in cold water. Add vanilla and stir only enough to mix it through the hot syrup. Place the popped corn in a bowl large enough for mixing. Pour the cooked syrup slowly over the popped corn and mix well. Wet the hands slightly and shape corn into balls, using only enough pressure to make the balls stick together.
