OLD FASHIONED PEANUT BRITTLE

List of Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 2 cups raw peanuts, chopped
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- In large heavy sauce pan heat together sugar, syrup and water.
- Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Boil on medium to medium high until syrup reaches approximately 250 degrees; add nuts.
- Continue to boil and stir until it reaches 305 degrees.
- Syrup will be yellow-brown and peanuts will pop and brown slightly.
- Remove from heat; add soda, butter and vanilla; stir well.
- Pour onto 2 large greased aluminum foil strips.
- As candy begins to cool put outer edges to stretch.
- When cooled, break into pieces.
