    Double Chocolate Cake

    Double Chocolate Cake 2 9in. round cake pans Frosting included

    List of Ingredients

    CAKE
    2 c flour
    1 1/2 tsp baking soda
    1 tsp salt
    1/3 c sugar
    1/2 c cocoa
    1 1/2 c buttermilk
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/4 tsp red food coloring
    3 eggs
    3/4 c shortening

    FROSTING
    1/2 c butter
    2 1/4 tsp vanilla
    4 1/2 c confectioners sugar
    4 1/2 tbsp of milk

    Recipe

    CAKE

    Sift flour, baking soda and salt. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, cocoa, buttermilk, vanilla and red food coloring. Blend throughly. Grease and flour 2 9 in. baking pans. Bake on 350 degrees for 30-40 min. Cool and frost.

    FROSTING

    Blend butter, vanilla, milk, and 1 1/2 c of confectioners sugar. Mix throughly. Slowly add 3 more cups of confectioners sugar and beat hard to make icing fluffy.
