    BBQ SAUCE FOR RIBS

    Source of Recipe

This is a yummy recipe that was posted by Erin and John on the RT

    List of Ingredients

    24 ounces of catchup
    8 ounces of tomato sauce
    1 medium onion, diced
2 Tablespoons red vinegar (maybe a little less)
1 teaspoon McCormacks Barbecue seasoning (tradidtional blend)
    2 Tablespoons sugar
1 small can pineapple juice (6 ounces)
pinch of garlic powder, cayenne pepper

    Recipe

Stir and cook on simmer for 15 minutes. Cook the sauce till it is done, about a half hour. Place the ribs in a steamer, crock pot, or large covered pan and pour over ribs. Steam for 2 to 2 1/2 half hours, or cook in the crock pot for 6 to 8 hours, or bake in oven for 2 to 3 hours in 325 oven.

Note: I cooked mine in the crockpot. But first I browned the ribs and poured off the fat. About an hour before eating I removed the ribs from the crockpot, skimmed off the fat on the sauce with paper towels, and put the ribs back in the sauce.

If you need to add any more liquid just add a little water.

Left over sauce may be put in a jar and refrigerated for another time.
