CINNAMON BUNS
List of Ingredients
This is a VERY easy recipe made with frozen bread dough and was in a Christmas card I once received.
1 loaf (1 pound) froxen bread dough, thawed.
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup raisins
2 Tablespoons almonds, pecans, or walnuts, chopped
2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
Recipe
Roll out thawed dough on floured surface to a 14" x 18" rectangle. Save 2 tablespoons of the melted butter for later use. Brush remaining butter over dough. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over buttered dough along with raisins, chopped nuts, and lemon peel.
Starting from the 14" side of rectangle, roll up jellyroll style. Cut into 12 rolls. Arrange in a 9" greased baking pan. Allow to rise until double. May be allowed to rise in refrigerator overnight to be popped in the oven the next morning.
Brush with remaining butter and bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until nicely browned. Allow to cool for 10 minutes. Combine powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth to make a glaze. Brush glaze over rolls.
Yield:12 rolls
