CORN BREAD
Mix;
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup sifted flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Beat 1 egg
Add 1 cup milk and 1/4 cup or 4 tablespoons melted shortening
Mix wet and dry ingredients lightly and quickly together. Pour into well greased 8 inch pan.
Bake in hot oven 425 degrees 20 or 25 minuites until lightly browned and starts to shrink away from sides of pan.
