MONTI'S ROMAN BREAD
This is a recipe from Monti's La Casa Vieja in Tempe, Arizona. We asked for the recipe and they gave it to us. It is a flat bread and delicious. It is an Italian bread.
List of Ingredients
- 1 cake yeast (one package dry)
- 1 1/2 cups lukewrm water
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 teaspoon salt
- dried Rosemay
- oil and salt as needed
Instructions
- Add sugar and yeast to lukewarm water and stir to dissolve yeast. Add flour, salt, and onion. Knead until smooth. Place dough in an oiled bowl and let rise until doubled in size. Punch down. flatten out dough on oiled cookie sheet to about 1 inch thick. Oil the top of the dough. Let rise until doubled in size. Sprinkle with salt and dried Rosemary. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve hot.
