This was given to us one evening when we were having dinner at the Chart House on Maui
List of Ingredients
1/2 package chocolate wafers
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 gallon coffee ice cream
1 1/2 cups Fudge sauce
Instructions
Crush wafers and add butter. Mix well. Press into a 9 inch pie plate. Cover with soft coffee ice cream. Top with COLD fudge sauce (It helps to place fudge sauce in the freezer for a while to make spreading easier.) Store the Mud Pie in the freezer for approximately 10 hours.
Slice the Mud Pie into eight portions and serve on chilled dessert plates. Top with whipped cream and diced almonds.
Final Comments
The recipe says 1 gallon of ice cream, which seems like a lot for one pie plate. I would pile as much ice cream as possible and freeze the rest if it doesn't all fit in a 9 inch pie plate.
