Donna's Pie Crust
1 C Shortening
3 C Flour
1 tsp Salt
1/2 C ICE Water
In a food processor cut the shortening into the flour & salt. Then dump the water in & process until it creates a ball. Pat into 2 paddies & chill for at least 1/2 hr.
I make many pies & have had no problems with using the food processor. My dough comes out kind of soft, but it's wonderful to work with. I get great reviews & I think it's because of using the extra water & chilling it afterwards. Now if I chill it to the point that it gets hard, I just microwave it for 15 seconds to make the dough easier to work with. I roll my dough out on floured wax paper. Place an empty pie pan face down, trace about an 1" bigger, remove extra dough & then flip it into my pan. Very easy. Recipe
