    SAVORY CHUCK ROAST

    Recipe Introduction

    Very good with a nice gravy

    List of Ingredients

    3 pound boneless chuck roast, trimmed of fat
    2 Tablespoons white vinegar
    1 teaspoon garlic salt
    1/4 cup all purpose flour
    2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
    1 (9 ounce) envelope Lipton Dry Onion-Mushroom soup mix
    3/4 cup sherry
    1/4 cup brewed coffee
    1 cup sliced mushrooms
    1 cup sliced onions, optional-my addition

    Rub roast with vinegar. Cut 8-10 slits in the roast and sprinkle slits with garlic powder. Dredge roast in flour. Brown on all sides in hot oil over medium heat. Combine soup mix, sherry, coffee and pour over roast. Add mushrooms and onions.

    Crockpot: After browning meat, place remaining ingredients in crock pot and cook on HIGH for 2 hours. Reduce to LOW
    for around 7 hours.

    Oven: Bake covered at 350 degrees for 3 hours

    Serve with rice or noodles and with steamed vegetables.
