MERINGUES
List of Ingredients
- 3 egg whites
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
Instructions
- Beat egg whites until stiff, adding sugar slowly. Add vanilla, then vinegar, beating all the while until very stiff.
- Plop a gob at a time (maybe 1/2 cup) on to a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Cook for 1 hour in a very slow oven at 250 degrees. Remove from oven and let cool.
- Merangues will be hollow. Carefully cut in half, length wise and fill with ice cream, or fruit, or what ever filling you desire, and serve.
