This is a popular dish in Hawaii and is of Japanese origin I think.
List of Ingredients
1 pound of lean beef, cut in very thin strips
1 block of tofu, cut in cubes
1 bunch of green onions, cut in pieces 1 1/2 inch long
2 large round onions, sliced
1 pound tomatoes, cut in wedges
1 bunch watercress, cut in 1 1/2 pieces
1 bundle of long rice, cooked and drained ( can be bought at a specialty store or oriental food store)
sliced bamboo shoots
1 tablespoon sugar
soy sauce and salt to taste
Instructions
Melt enough oil in large frying pan to keep meat from sticking. Add meat and cook a few minutes. Add sugar, tofu . Add onions and cook 3 minutes. Add long rice and cook 3 minutes. Add tomatos and watercress and cook until watercress is wilted. Add salt and soy to taste.
