HEKKA # 2
List of Ingredients
- 1 pound lean beef (or cooked chicken or cooked pork) cut in very thin strips
- 1 block tofu cut in cubes
- 1 bunch green onions cut in pieces about 1 1/2 inches long
- 2 large round onions sliced thin.
- 1 bunch watercress cut in 1 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 bundle long rice, broken in small pieces, cooked and drained
- Snow peas
- 1 small can sliced bamboo shoots
- bean sprouts
- carrrots
- califlower
- 1 small can sliced water chestnuts.
- 1 to 2 tablespoons cooking oil
Instructions
- Marinade for meat:
2 tablespoons sherry
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Marinate meat for 1 to 1/2 hours.
- Sauce"
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons bourbon or wine
1/4 cup sugar (maybe less)
1 tablespoon corn starch
grated ginger
1 garlic clove, pressed
- Melt enough oil to quickly brown meat. Add the sauce. Add the onions, and long rice. Add the rest of the vegetables with the watercress added last.
- Tthe entire cooking process should last 20 minutes.
