    MONTEREY SWISS STEAK


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 large round steak, cut in serving sections
    • 2 cloves garlic or 1/2 teasoon garlic salt
    • 1/3 cup flour
    • 2 teaspoons paprika
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
    • 3 tablespoon cooking oil
    • 1 large onion sliced
    • 12 fresh mushrooms sliced or small can of mushrooms, drained
    • 1/2 cup bouillon
    • 1/2 cup sour cream


    Instructions


    1. Rub meat with garlic. Combine the flour, paprika, salt and pepper. Pound or rub well into steak pieces. Brown in hot oil. Top with the onions and mushrooms. Add the bouillon and simmer, covered, until tender--about 2 hours, adding more liquid if needed. Remove steak and any excess fat. Add the sour cream to skillet and stir to mix. Serve over the steak.


    Final Comments


    I make this in my electric skillet, but you can make it on top of the stove too.
