    I doubled the recipe. It was a tad salty to my taste so will use low sodium chicken broth next time. I also doubled the recipe. Chicken might be nice too instead of the ham.

    List of Ingredients






    SWISS HAM SOUP

    4 1/2 teaspoons butter
    4 1/2 teaspoons flour
    1 can (14 1/2 oz) chicken broth
    1 cup chopped broccoli
    2 Tablespoons chopped onion
    1 cup cubed fully cooked ham
    1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
    1/8 teaspoons thyme
    1 cup shredded swiss cheese

    In a saucepan, melt butter, whisking flour until smooth. Gradually add chicken broth. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Add the broccoli and onion; cook and stir until crisp tender. Add the ham, cream and thyme; heat through. Stir in the swiss cheese until melted.

    Yield; two servings.
