    It’s a great time to do a holiday appetizer exchange! Consider preparing cream cheese based spreads, dips, and cheese balls. They freeze beautifully and are always a party favorite. We savored this spread over the weekend and our frozen stash will do double-duty as a cost-effective substitute for Boursin®, Rondele®, or Alouette® cheese (
    Recipe Yields: Approximately 2 ½ cups (19 ounces)


    List of Ingredients





    16 ounces cream cheese, softened (I have used whipped for this also)
    ½ cup sour cream
    ¼ cup freshly-grated parmesan cheese
    2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
    2 teaspoons dried parsley
    1 teaspoon dried chives
    1 teaspoon dried dill
    ½ teaspoon dried basil
    ½ teaspoon black pepper
    ¼ teaspoon dried thyme

    Recipe




    Substitute herbs of preference. Blend, or process, all ingredients until smooth. Portion and freeze. Defrost in refrigerator and serve as a dip or spread at room temperature.
