    Italian Stuffed Green Peppers


    List of Ingredients


    • 3 green peppers, cut lengthwise in half
    • 1/3 cup sliced green onions
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • 1 tbs butter or margarine
    • 1 can tomato sauce [8oz]
    • 2 cups hot cooked rice
    • 3/4 tsp dried oregano
    • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided


    Instructions


    1. Remove seeds from peppers. Bring 6 cups water to a boil in a dutch oven. Add green peppers. Reduce heat,simmer 5 minutes or until tender crisp. Drain

    2. Cook and stir onions and garlic in butter in medium skillet; stir in tomato sauce,rice,cheese and oregano. Spoon into pepper halves. Place in 12x8 inch baking dish.

    3. Bake at 350 for 20 min. Top with remaining 1/2 cup cheese; continue baking until cheese is melted.Serves 6
