    Toffee Cream Bars

    List of Ingredients




    BASE:
    1 c. flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. margarine
    1/4 tsp. salt

    FILLING:
    1 can coconut pecan frosting**
    1-3 oz. cream cheese (softened)
    1 egg

    GLAZE:
    1/3 c. chocolate chips
    2 tsp. shortening

    In small bowl, combine all base ingredients. Beat at medium speed until crumbly. Press into 9x13 pan. Bake @ 350 for 17-22 minutes.

    In small bowl, combine all filling ingredients. Beat until blended. Spread filling over base. Bake @ 350, 22-32 minutes until golden and center is almost set. Cool completely.

    Melt glaze ingredients, in small saucepan, over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Drizzle over cooled bars. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before cutting into bars. Store in refrigerator. Makes 36 bars.

    **If coconut pecan frosting is unavailable, substitute 1 can of vanilla frosting and add 1/4-1/2 c. coconut and 1/4-1/3 c. finely chopped pecans.
