Chocolate Cake that my kids love the best!
List of Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1/4 tsp, salt
- 1 pkg. small marshmallows
- Easy Chocolate Frosting***
- 1 stick margarine
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 1 box 4x sugar
- 1/2 c. cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Instructions
- Cream sugar and shortening, add eggs. Beat by hand.
- Sift flour, cocoa and salt, add to above mixture and beat.
- Add vanilla and nuts, pour into an oblong pan.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
- Remove and spread marshmallows evenly on cake.
- Put back in oven until marshmallows slightly melt.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool then frost with easy chocolate frosting***.
- Easy Chocolate Frosting**
Cream margarine, combine cocoa and sugar, add to margarine alternately with cream. Add vanilla and nuts, spread on cooled cake.
