Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

List of Ingredients



• 2 C. sugar
  
• 1/4 C. cocoa
  
• 1/2 C. cream
  
• dash salt
  
• 1-1/2 Tbs. butter/margarine
  
• 1 Tbs. Karo syrup
  
• 1/4 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  
• 1 C. peanut butter
  
• 5-6 C. 5 min. oatmeal
  






Instructions



1. Combine sugar, cocoa and salt, stirring to break up clumps of cocoa.
   
   
2. On medium heat, stir in cream, constantly stirring until sugar is completely melted. Then add Karo syrup.
   
   
3. Continue cooking after mixture starts to boil for at least 5 minutes.
   
   
4. Have cup of cold water handy and drop a couple of drops of the mixture into the water, checking to see if when touched, the mixture can be formed into a soft ball.
   
   
5. Remove from heat and add butter, flavoring and peanut butter, mixing well.
   
   
6. Add Oats and stir together until all oats are covered.
   
   
7. Immediately pour onto a greased cookie sheet or drop by tablespoonful onto the cookie sheet.
   
   
8. If you poured the mixture on the cookie sheet, after mix cools, you can cut into cookie size.
