Cube Steak

Best to use a teflon fry pan for this recipe.
List of Ingredients
- Enough cube steak for a meal
- vegetable oil
- self-rising flour (enough to coat pieces of meat)
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Rinse pieces of cube steak under water.
(rinsing pieces helps flour to cling to them)
- Salt and pepper both sides of meat and dip in flour to coat well..
- Heat enough oil in frying pan to cover bottom of pan.
(you can test that the oil is hot enough when you drop a little bit of flour into the pan and it sizzles) Do not have pan so hot that it smokes though.
- Place coated pieces in oil and turn down to almost medium heat. Check after a couple of minutes in case burner is too hot.
- Turn meat when bottom is very brown and cook other side.
- I turn my cube steak at least a couple of times so I don't cook one side too fast, this helps to keep the steak tender.
- Meat is done when there is no drainage from meat. Place on paper towel to drain off oil.
