    Best to use a teflon fry pan for this recipe.


    List of Ingredients


    • Enough cube steak for a meal
    • vegetable oil
    • self-rising flour (enough to coat pieces of meat)
    • salt and pepper to taste


    Instructions


    1. Rinse pieces of cube steak under water.
      (rinsing pieces helps flour to cling to them)
    2. Salt and pepper both sides of meat and dip in flour to coat well..
    3. Heat enough oil in frying pan to cover bottom of pan.
      (you can test that the oil is hot enough when you drop a little bit of flour into the pan and it sizzles) Do not have pan so hot that it smokes though.
    4. Place coated pieces in oil and turn down to almost medium heat. Check after a couple of minutes in case burner is too hot.
    5. Turn meat when bottom is very brown and cook other side.
    6. I turn my cube steak at least a couple of times so I don't cook one side too fast, this helps to keep the steak tender.
    7. Meat is done when there is no drainage from meat. Place on paper towel to drain off oil.
