Fried- Lemon Clam Fritters

1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg
6 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 cups minced clams (canned-do not drain)
Salad oil for fryingRecipe
Blend flour, baking powder, egg, lemon juice, clams and clam juice. Heat enough oil in large frypan to cover 1/4-inch deep, until hot. Drop batter by teaspoon into hot oil and cook until browned on both sides. Lift from oil and drain on paper towels. Keep warm until all the batter is cooked. (Add more oil to pan during cooking, if necessary.)
