    Quick- Sour Cream Pecan Bread The Harbor

    List of Ingredients




    2 1/2 cups sugar
    2 sticks (1 cup) butter, softened
    5 eggs
    4 cups flour
    1 1/2 teaspoons salt
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1 1/2 cups sour cream
    1 cup sultanas
    1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
    Topping
    1 1/2 cup brown sugar
    1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, softened
    1 1/2 tablespoon flour
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    2 cups chopped pecans

    Recipe



    In a large bowl cream together sugar and butter. Beat in 3 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Into another bowl sift together flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Blend half the flour mixture into the butter mixture and beat in 2 more eggs, one at a time. Blend in remaining flour mixture and stir in thoroughly sour cream, sultanas, and vanilla. Pour the batter into a buttered baking pan 13 x 9 x 2-inches.
    Topping: In a bowl combine brown sugar, butter, flour, cinnamon, and pecans. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the batter and bake the bread in a preheated moderate oven (350 degrees F) for 1 hour and 25 minutes. If the top seems to be browning too quickly, put a sheet of foil lightly over it.
