    Pie- Crunchy Caramel Apple Pie

    List of Ingredients




    1/2 cup sugar
    3 tablespoons flour
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/8 teaspoon salt
    6 cups thinly sliced peeled apples such as Fuji
    1 unbaked 9-inch piecrust
    Crumb topping (see recipe)
    1/2 cup chopped pecans
    1/4 cup prepared caramel topping

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    In bowl, stir together sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Add apple slices and gently toss until coated. Transfer mixture to pie shell.

    Prepare crumb topping and sprinkle over apples.

    Place pie on cookie sheet to collect any drippings. Cover edges of pie with foil. Bake in preheated oven 25 minutes. Remove foil and return to oven another 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle pie with chopped pecans, then drizzle with caramel. Cool on wire rack. Makes 8 servings.

    Crumb topping
    1 cup packed brown sugar
    1/2 cup flour
    1/2 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
    1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

    Stir together brown sugar, flour and oats. Cut in butter until crumbly
