Clare's Fudge Nougats
List of Ingredients
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup flour
1 package (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate morsels
1 cup finely crushed graham cracker crumbs
3/4 cups chopped walnuts plus optional walnut halves for garnish (divided)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Recipe
In medium saucepan, combine sugar, butter and evaporated milk. Bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Once mixture boils, continue to boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Lower heat and quickly stir in flour. Cook 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and immediately add remaining ingredients. Spread in a well-buttered 121/4-by-81/4-inch pan. Cool completely. Cut into squares. If desired, top each piece with a walnut half. Makes 50 to 60 pieces
