    Shaped- Chocolate Chunk Macaroons

    List of Ingredients





    Makes 20

    3/4 cup sugar
    2 1/2 cups unsweetened shredded coconut
    2 large egg whites
    1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chunks
    1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    Pinch of salt

    Recipe



    1. Heat oven to 350°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine sugar, coconut, egg whites, chocolate, vanilla, and salt. Using your hands, mix well.

    2. Dampen hands with cold water. Form 1 1/2 tablespoons mixture into a loose haystack shape, and place on prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining mixture, spacing macaroons about 1 inch apart.

    3. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Transfer sheet to a wire rack to cool slightly. Serve macaroons warm, or store in an airtight container up to 3 days.
