Welsh- Welsh Rabbit, Fondue Style
List of Ingredients
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup milk
1 cup ale
1 pound diced sharp Cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sherry
Dash Tabasco sauce
Recipe
Blend the flour into the butter and heat in a saucepan, stirring while you add the milk and ale. Heat slowly, stirring until thickened. Remove from the heat and stir in the cheese, blending until smooth. Add the salt and sherry, stirring until blended. Heat slowly until bubbling. Add Tabasco for flavor. Bring to the table and place on lighted fondue burner. Serve with assorted dunkables, such as rye breadsticks, celery and carrot sticks, apple wedges, zucchini and turnip sticks. Makes 4 servings.
