    Ground- Lamb Meatballs in Sour Cream Sauce

    List of Ingredients

    1 1/2 pounds ground lamb
    1/2 pound ground beef chuck
    1/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs
    1 1/2 teaspoons salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    2 tablespoons butter or margarine
    2 red bell peppers, seeded, cut in strips (or green pepper if not available)
    1/2 cup chopped onion
    1 tablespoon water
    1 cup sour cream

    Recipe

    In bowl combine the lamb, beef, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, Worcestershire, and eggs. Mix well and shape into balls about 1 1/2 to 2 inches in diameter. Place balls in a single layer in a shallow baking pan. Bake in a 500 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Meanwhile heat the butter in a frying pan; add pepper strips, onions and water; and saute, stirring often, for about 15 minutes, or until vegetable are tender. Add sour cream and stir until heated through- do not boil.
    Add the hot, cooked meatballs, including any juices, and stir just until well coated with the sauce. Remove from heat. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
