Pork- Breaded Pork Chops
List of Ingredients
6 pork loin, blade, rib, or sirloin chops, each 3/4 inch thick
1/2 cup dried bread crumbs
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoon milk
1 large egg
salad oil
1 16-ounce jar applesauce
ground cinnamon
Recipe
About 25 minutes before serving:
1. Trim excess fat from pork chops. On waxed paper, mix bread crumbs, salt and pepper. In pie plate with fork, beat milk and egg slightly. Dip pork chops in milk mixture, then in bread crumb mixture to coat.
2. In 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, in 1 tablespoon hot salad oil, cook 3 pork chops until golden brown on both sides and tender, 8 to 10 minutes, turning pork chops once. Remove pork chops to warm platter; keep warm. Repeat with remaining 3 pork chops, adding 1 tablespoon additional salad oil. Serve with warm applesauce sprinkled with cinnamon, if you like. Makes 6 main dish servings.
