    Serves 8

    List of Ingredients




    1 lb. ground chicken breast 1 small Golden Delicious or Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored and shredded (3/4 cup)
    2 tablespoons finely choped fresh sage
    1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    1 large egg, lightly beaten

    Recipe



    Prepare grill for cooking.
    Stir together all ingredients ina large bowl until combine well.
    Form round 1/8 cups of sausage mixture into 2-inch diatmeter patties using moistened hands. When fire is medium-hot (you can hold you hand 5 inches above rack 3 to 4 seconds), grill patties on lightly oiled grill rack, turning once, until cooked through, about 6 minutes.

    Cooks' notes:
    Patties can be grilled 1 day ahead and reheated in a 350 degree oven 15 minutes.
    You can use a lightly oiled well-seasoned ridged grill pan to cook the patties.
