Makes 1/4 cup
4 teaspoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons ground chili powder
2 teaspoons dried cilantro leaves
2 teaspoons dried onion flakes
Recipe
Combine ingredients in small bowl. Store in airtight container in cool, dry place until needed.
Note: When using with chicken or steak, sprinkle 1 teaspoon of rub on each chicken piece or steak. Allow to marinate in refrigerator at least 30 minutes. Bake, broil or grill as desired. Also can make into a paste by adding 3 tablespoons of oil to 1 tablespoon rub.
