3 pounds green beans, trimmed
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the beans and cook until crisp yet tender, about 5 minutes. Drain. Place in a serving bowl, toss with the oil and vinegar and season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately or at room temperature.
