List of Ingredients
2 TBSP WHITE SUGAR
2 TBSP CORNSTARCH
1/2 CUP WATER
3 EGG WHITES
1/4 TSP SALT
1/2 TSP VANILLA
5 TBSP SUGAR
Recipe
COMBINE 2 TBSP SUGAR AND CORNSTARCH IN SMALL SAUCEPAN, ADD WATER AND COOK OVER MEDIUM HEAT. STIRRING CONSTANTLY, UNTIL THICK AND CLEAR. COOL. BEAT EGG WHITES, SALT AND VANILLA UNTIL SOFT MOUNDS FORM. ADD 4 TBSP SUGAR GRADUALLY, BEATING WELL AFTER EACH ADDITION. COMBINE WITH CORNSTARCH MIXTURE AND CONTINUE BEATING UNTIL MERINGUE STANDS IN STIFF PEAKS. BAKE 450 DEGREES FOR 12 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN.
