    Birdseeds for Birdbrains

    Source of Recipe

    Diana Wisconsin from Old_Pal's_Place

    List of Ingredients

    Take a clean quart jar. Layer four types of birdseed in the jar, about 3/4 C of each type of seed. I layer, in this order, Black Oil Sunflower Seed, Cracked Corn, Sunflower Chips, Basic Birdseed Mix.

    Put on the lid, and add a calico fabric topper, and tie with raffia or twine. Add this label:

    "This jar is full of all kinds of seeds,
    They're a special birdie treat...
    Put some out for your feathered friends;
    They'll think you're really "tweet!"

    I made a dozen jars last year, and people loved them. This year, I want to sell them as a fundraiser at church. The cost is about $2-$3 each, based on the expense of the birdseed. I'd sell them for $5.00 each. You could make them even more inexpensively by using only 2 types of seed (maybe basic birdseed and cracked corn) and just layer each twice.
