    Sweet & Sour Meatballs for Crockpot

    I usually make these up about 8:00 AM and then we eat at 5:00. A couple of times thru' the day, I might just lift the lid and give a bit of a stir to make sure all meatballs are coated. That's if I remember - if not, too bad!!!!! I usually serve with a leafy green lettuce salad and some cheese buns or serve it over cooked rice with some garlic bread. Very tasty.


    List of Ingredients




    Make my meatballs and broil them first, adding 1 egg, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or oatmeal in a pinch) some chopped chives and a few chopped mushrooms and about 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce as a binder. Broil until cooked through, drain grease and set aside.

    In the crock pot, combine 2 cups beef consomme, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 4 tbsp. soy sauce, 1/2 tsp. ginger, 1/4 cup ketchup or BBQ sauce. Add cooked meatballs and leave on low for the day
