This is a fast cake and a great way to use a boxed cake mix to get a made-from-scratch taste
List of Ingredients
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
1 can pineapple rings (large can)
Maraschino cherries

Mix boxed yellow cake mix according to package direction..(I used a Duncan Hines Butter Recipe Mix)...except substitute pineapple juice from canned pineapple for liquid in cake mix.
Combine brown sugar and melted butter in small bowl. Mix well and pour evenly into bottom of 13" x 9" pan. Arrange pineapple rings and half pineapple rings on bottom to completely cover, edge to edge. Place a cherry in the center of each slice, between each slice and in the center of each half slice. Bake 35 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees for a metal pan, 325 degrees for a glass pan (preferred).Insert sharp knife in center of cake to test for doneness. No crumbs will cling, if done.
Allow to sit for about 10 minutes, then loosen edges and invert onto platter. If any slices have moved, carefully re-arrange.
