    Rice Cooked in the Microwave

    This rice tastes great, and you can vary its flavor with herbs or lemon juice, or flavored broth. I know you may still really want the rice cooker, but maybe you will try this first and then decide!

    List of Ingredients




    2C long grain rice
    3 1/2C water or canned broth
    1 1/2tsp butter or olive oil
    Kosher salt

    Place all but the salt in an 8C glass measure cup or a micro safe bowl ( I use a glass oval)
    Rice doubles in size, so choose a containter large enuf. Micro on high, uncovered for 10min. Then micro on medium or half power for 15min, also uncovered. Do not stir the rice at any time during cooking process. Season with salt and fluff with fork before serving.
