Poster that tried the recipe said "I just made the Alfredo Sauce. It was awesome and pretty darn authentic. I first halved the recipe, then halved it again, as I was only feeding 3-4 of us. I also sauteed some sliced chicken in some butter to put on the pasta, then topped it w/the alfredo sauce. My family loved it! Thanks again."

Seriously - there is *no* cream cheese in the alfredo!
What you'll need for the *true* Olive Garden alfredo.
1# butter
1 tsp coase black pepper
1 TBSP chopped garlic (either in the jar, or fresh garlic)
1 tsp salt
** melt butter with seasonings... when butter has melted, add:
2 quarts heavy cream
8 oz milk
** When milk has begun to boil, (before it begins to foam up..) Add:
4 oz white sauce base (or 3 oz flour will work)
1# grated parm. cheese.
Mix throughly with a wire whip to break up clumps, bring up to 185 degrees and then serve.
I know this is alot, lets say you have a big party or what not. If you want to make less, simply half the recipe.Recipe
