Kathy was so proud of her husband for making up this recipe. He told her he had thought and worked so hard getting the ingredients just right. He said he had been working on developing it and getting just the right flavors. And he was so proud and so was she when she brought it to work for us to try. It was very good. I really liked it. Then she found the very same recipe in an old cookbook she had and she was furious at him for leading her on with the story of how he had developed this fantastic recipe all by himself. I doesn't matter because it is very good.
List of Ingredients
1 ½ STICKS MARGARINE
1 2/3 CUP PRETZELS-BROKEN UP INTO PIECES
8 OUNCES CREAM CHEESE
1 CUP SUGAR
8 OUNCES COOL WHIP
3 OUNCE PACKGAGE STRAWBERRY JELLO
20 OUNCE CAN CHUNK PINEAPPLE
10 OUNCE FROZEN STRAWBERRIES

PLACE PRETZELS IN BOTTOM OF 9X13” BAKING DISH
MELT MARGARINE AND POUR OVER PRETZELS AND BAKE 10 MINUTES AT 300
COOL. MIX CREAM CHEESE, SUGAR AND COOL WHIP. SPREAD OVER PRETZELS LEAVING NO GAPS. MAKE JELLO USING PINEAPPLE JUICE AND ENOUGH BOILING WATER TO MAKE 1 C. LIQUID. COOL UNTIL SYRUPY. ADD PINEAPPLE AND FROZEN STRAWBERRIES TO JELLO. POUR OVER CREAM CHEESE MIXTURE. ALLOW JELLO TO SET FIRMLY. STORE IN FRIDGE UNTIL SERVED.
