Swiss Steak
List of Ingredients
- 3 lb Round Steak
- 2 Clove Garlic, Minced
- 1 teaspoon Seasoned Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 9 Tablespoons Flour
- 3 Onions, Sliced
- 1/4 Cup Butter
- 3 1/2 Cups Beef Stock
- 3 Stalks Celery,Diced
- 2 Carrots , Peeled and diced
- Salt to Taste
- 1/2 teaspoon Thyme
Instructions
- Rub the steak with garlic, seasoned salt and the pepper.
- Dredge steak in flour and pound flour into the meat on both sides.
- Brown the onions in butter in a heavy skillet and remove them to drain on a paper towel
- Add the meat and brown well on both sides
- Return the onions to meat along with the stock, celery
and carrot. Add salt,and herbs.
- Cover and simmer until meat is fork tender, about
2-1/2 hours.
- Thicken the gravy with flour.
