A light and fluffy, full bodied, biscuit
List of Ingredients
1 pkg dry yeast
2 cup milk scalded and cooked
1/2 cup mashed potatoes
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Recipe
Dissolve yeast and sugar into milk. Add mashed potatoes, shortening, and enough flour to make like cake batter. Mix well and let double in bulk, then add baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add enough flour to make soft dough, let rise 1 hour or keep in refrigerator
(in covered container).
Roll out like biscuits on floured board, place in greased pan. Let rise 2 hours. Bake at 375 f for 12-15 minutes
OR cut like biscuits and place on a greased cookie sheet and freeze. When frozen, store in plastic bags in freezer.
