Winter Fruit Salad

Recipe Introduction
Good for potlucks. If it's going to church, leave out the liqueur & add orange juice instead.
List of Ingredients
1 c. apple juice
1/2 c. halved dried apricots
1/2 c. halved pitted dates
1/2 c. pitted prunes
1/2 c. raisins (I always use golden raisins)
2 T. sugar
1 c. pineapple chunks
1 orange, peeled, cut in half lengthwise, the cut in 1/2" crosswise slices
1 pear, peeled, cored, & cubed
1 banana, peeled & sliced
1/2 c. chopped nuts (recipe said walnuts, but I use pecans)
2 T. fruit liqueur
1 apple, cored, sliced, & sprinkled with lemon juice
1 kiwifruit, peeled & thinly sliced
10 strawberries, hulled and halved
Recipe
Combine apple juice, dried fruits, and sugar in saucepan. Bring to boil, simmer five minutes. Cool, cover, and chill at least 2 hours.
Combine pineapple through walnuts. Add dried fruit with a slotted spoon, fold together. Sprinkle with liqueur (or orange juice). Transfer to a glass serving bowl. Garnish with apples, kiwi & strawberries.
Cover, chill one hour.
