Cheesy Chive Crisps

1 cup butter, softened (no substitutions)
3 cups (12 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup minced chives
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce
Dash of garlic salt
2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Recipe
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and cheese until blended. Beat in flour, chives, salt, hot pepper sauce, and garlic salt. Stir in cereal. Shape into four 6-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch logs. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.**
Unwrap and cut into 1/4-inch slices. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 325° F. for 20-25 minutes or until edges are crisp and lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool. Store in refrigerator or freezer. Yield: about 9 dozen.
**Logs can be frozen for future use. Thaw in refrigerator 2-3 hours before slicing and baking.
