ABM Panettone Bread

List of Ingredients
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tblsp. butter or margarine, cut up or softened
1 large egg
1 tsp. salt
3 cups flour (or use 1 cup whole wheat and 2 cups bread flour)
1/3 cup chopped glace cherries and candied fruit
1/3 cup chopped candied pineapple
2 Tblsp. sugar
1 Tblsp. cardamom
1-1/2 tsp. finely shredded orange peel (may use lemon or lime)
1 pkg. active dry yeast
Recipe
Add ingredients to bread machine pan in the order suggested by manufacturer; adding fruits and peel or peels with the flour. (You could use chopped almonds in place of the pineapple if desired). Makes 1-1/2 lb. loaf.
NOTE:- Use the 1-pound recipe if your machine pan holds 10 cups or less of water. Recommended bread cycle:- Basic/white with light or medium color setting. If desired drizzle with Almond icing after cooling.
Almond icing: Stir together 1/2 cup sifted icing sugar, 1/4 tsp. almond extract, and enough milk (about 2 to 3 tsp.) to make icing of drizzling consistency.
