    List of Ingredients




    2 lb. ground beef
    1/2 cup onion, chopped
    1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
    1/2 cup celery, chopped
    1 (10 3/4-oz.) can tomato soup
    White potatoes
    1 (10 3/4-oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
    Milk
    Salt and pepper

    Brown the beef and some of the chopped onion on the stove. Put it in a 13-x 9-x 2-inch pan. Sprinkle the chopped onion, green pepper, and celery on top of the beef in the pan. Mix tomato soup in a bowl with 1/2 can of water and pour over the beef mixture. Peel and slice enough potatoes to fill the pan to the top. Mix the cream of mushroom soup with 1/2 can of milk. Pour it over the entire dish. Season the top with salt and pepper. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 375 degrees for 2 hours. Serves how many: 7 to 10.

    Comments:
    You can feel free to add other veggies: carrots, cauliflower, yellow squash. Add whatever your family enjoys. This dish is worth the effort it takes to prepare the veggies and the potatoes.

    Here's one suggestion: Cut the vegetables the night before and store them; then all the preparation you will have to do is to clean and slice the potatoes. (The potatoes brown if they are stored overnight unless you put them in salt water). This recipe has been a family favorite for years.
