    1 3-lb. broiler chicken, cut into serving pieces and skinned
    1/2 cup red wine vinegar
    2 Tblsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/4 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
    1/4 cup ketchup
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1-1/4 Tblsp. dry mustard
    1 tsp. paprika
    1 dash Tabasco sauce
    1/2 cup onion, thinly sliced

    Simmer chicken pieces in 1 inch of water, covered, for 15-20 minutes. In a 13- X 9- X2-inch baking dish, mix together all the ingredients except the chicken and onion. Stir in the onion. Drain the chicken and place it in a single layer in the baking dish. Spoon the sauce over the chicken. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight. Drain the chicken from the marinade and cook on a grill using the marinade for a basting sauce.
