Recipe Introduction
Woodie's Notes - I only had 5 ounces of blue cheese and you couldn't really spread it with a spatula, I just mashed it all up with a form and sprinkled it over the onions with my fingers. Also, I didn't broil, I just baked it for about 1/2 hour and the top was nicely browned.
List of Ingredients
2 large Spanish onions (about 1 lb.)
6 oz. blue cheese, broken into pieces
6 Tblsp. unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. dried dill weed
Freshly ground black pepper
Recipe
Preheat oven to 425° F. and position oven rack to the center of oven. Generously butter a 9 x 13 baking dish.
Slice onions and place evenly in prepared baking dish. Mix remaining ingredients together and spread evenly over onions with a spatula.
Bake at 425° F. for 20 minutes, then broil briefly until top is browned and bubbly. (Watch carefully to avoid burning.) Yield: 4 servings.
