Almond Shortbread
List of Ingredients
- 2 cups vegetable shortening
- 2 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
- 2 Teaspoons almond extract
- 4 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup almonds ground
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- In a large bowl, cream teh vegetable shortening and the brown sugar. Beat in the almond extract. Gradually sitr in the flour and almonds.
- Pinch off walnut-sized pieces of dough and roll into balls. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass dipped in flour.
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Until the edges start to color. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
