    Almond Shortbread


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups vegetable shortening
    • 2 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
    • 2 Teaspoons almond extract
    • 4 1/2 cups flour
    • 1 cup almonds ground


    Instructions


    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
    2. In a large bowl, cream teh vegetable shortening and the brown sugar. Beat in the almond extract. Gradually sitr in the flour and almonds.
    3. Pinch off walnut-sized pieces of dough and roll into balls. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass dipped in flour.
    4. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Until the edges start to color. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
