Butternuts
List of Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup almonds ground fine
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup vegetable shortening
- 1/2 cup powered sugar
- 1 cup hard butterscotch candies, crushed
- granulated sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
- Combine the flour, almonds and salt.
- In a large bowl, Cream the vegetable shortening and powdered sugar. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Fold in the crushed candy.
- Break off small pieces of the dough and roll into balls. Place teh balls 1 1/2 inches aparet on ungreased baking sheet. Dip the bottom of a glass in granulated sugar and flatten each cookie.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until lightly colored. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
