    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/2 cups flour
    • 1 cup almonds ground fine
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 3/4 cup vegetable shortening
    • 1/2 cup powered sugar
    • 1 cup hard butterscotch candies, crushed
    • granulated sugar


    Instructions


    1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
    2. Combine the flour, almonds and salt.

    3. In a large bowl, Cream the vegetable shortening and powdered sugar. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Fold in the crushed candy.
    4. Break off small pieces of the dough and roll into balls. Place teh balls 1 1/2 inches aparet on ungreased baking sheet. Dip the bottom of a glass in granulated sugar and flatten each cookie.
    5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until lightly colored. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
